A bespoke off-grid retreat just a short drive from Esperance. Designed for simplicity and comfort, our thoughtfully crafted cabins offer a seamless blend of seclusion, rural charm, and breathtaking natural beauty. Set on 650 acres, our two adults only cabins are small in stature but large on appeal. A place to slow down, unwind and take in the beauty of your surroundings. We’re deeply committed to minimising our environmental impact. Our cabins are fully off-grid, harnessing every bit of sunlight to power batteries stored in our dedicated battery shed. With 240,000 litres of rainwater storage, we capture runoff from the properties roofs, filter it through a UV system, and supply fresh filtered rainwater directly to the cabins. The cabins feature burnished concrete flooring and are thoughtfully oriented North/South to naturally warm the slab in winter and keep it cool in summer. Double-glazed windows help maintain a comfortable temperature indoors year-round with the help of higher rated insulation and wood burning fireplace. In our design, we've also repurposed local materials to reduce waste. Recycled railway sleepers from the local railway are used in the front pergolas, Spongolite rock from the cabin footings builds our fireplaces, and corrugated iron from a century-old shed in Esperance adds a unique touch to the structure. These materials not only minimize landfill waste but also connect our cabins to the local history and landscape.

Pets are not allowed

Box Hill is strictly an adults only retreat. Unfortunately no animals are permitted, no parties, minimal noise if other guests are present.

Moderate - Full refund given if a guest cancels more than 5 days before their scheduled arrival date. If 5 days or less notice is given, the host retains 50% of the full booking fee. If 24 hours or less notice is given, the host retains the full booking fee.

Smoke alarms in all bedrooms, fire extinguishers and fire blankets available, first aid kit provided.

In 2020, we - Anna, a proud local of Esperance, and Alex, originally from Brazil decided to make Esperance our permanent home. Wanting to be closer to family and raise our own here, we also saw an opportunity to combine our shared backgrounds in travel and resort management to create something special: an off-grid getaway that blends comfort, nature, and community.
