    About Bruny Island Lodge

Set on 860 acres of untouched bushland in remote South Bruny, The Lodge is a rustic timber chalet nestled above Oyster Cove at Mickeys Bay. Surrounded by nature and sweeping coastal views, it offers a secluded and immersive escape on Bruny Island.

Designed for both large gatherings and intimate getaways, The Lodge is perfect for corporate retreats or extended family holidays. The timber cottage features five bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to 24 guests, with four bathrooms, five toilets, and a fully equipped commercial kitchen.

Inside, you'll find a cosy bar and games room anchored by a cast iron fireplace for winter warmth. In summer, the walls open to reveal stunning bushland and ocean views. A wraparound timber deck invites you to relax or tee off into the property’s private chip-and-putt golf course.

Outdoors, guests can enjoy a large barbecue, an open-air fireplace, and a dedicated fish-cleaning station. Private access to the coastline and quiet bush tracks make it easy to explore Bruny’s natural beauty on foot or by kayak.

The sheltered waters of Oyster Cove, just moments from the front door, are ideal for fishing, paddling, or simply soaking up the stillness. With top-notch cooking facilities, The Lodge is perfect for self-catering – bring your provisions and even your own chef, if you’d like.

Even if you're a smaller group, The Lodge can be tailored to your needs. You’ll have access to all the shared spaces – kitchen, dining, games room – while only using the bedrooms and bathrooms you require. We simply close off extra bunk rooms and bathrooms to keep your stay efficient and cost-effective.

Whether you're reconnecting with colleagues, celebrating with family, or escaping the city, The Lodge offers a rare blend of comfort, privacy, and raw Tasmanian wilderness.

    Meet Your Host, Monica Orrego

Our journey started in 2012 when we moved from Colombia to Tasmania, looking for a better future for our son and new opportunities for ourselves. This beautiful island quickly became home, and we’ve loved every moment of our adventure here. We’ve been in tourism and hospitality since the very beginning, starting out as housekeepers and hosts in 2012. For us, hosting with purpose means going beyond just providing a place to stay—we genuinely care about your experience and want you to feel at home.
