Description
Figtree Cottage is a peaceful and thoughtfully designed retreat set on a picturesque 132-acre cattle farm just outside of Milton. With sweeping views of Pigeon House Mountain and close proximity to Narrawallee and Mollymook beaches, this hempcrete cottage offers a perfect blend of coastal and rural living. Nestled under a grand old Moreton Bay fig, it sits harmoniously alongside a heritage-listed homestead from the 1870s, and even stands on the footprint of the property’s original dairy.
The cottage has been built with accessibility in mind, making it a rare find in the Milton/Mollymook region. It’s ideal for all travellers, including those with mobility needs, and features a fully accessible layout, from the bathroom and kitchen to the stepless entrance and parking. Inside, you’ll find comfortable, eco-conscious living with natural light, excellent insulation, and warm timber touches. A ceiling fan keeps the space cool in summer, while a fireplace adds cosy charm in the cooler months.
Enjoy the outdoors with a built-in BBQ and dining space in a native garden setting, or stargaze from the skylights or under the open sky. The farm itself is a working property, so you may hear the sounds of cattle or catch glimpses of daily farm life during your stay. While it's equipped for easy cooking at home, the lively food scene of Milton and Mollymook is just a short drive away.
Guests are welcomed through a remote-controlled gate and easy access road, with privacy and peace ensured. Due to the farm's biosecurity requirements, pets aren't permitted, but assistance animals are welcome with prior notice. Figtree Cottage is a special kind of escape - sustainable, serene, and full of country charm.
