    Description

Girragirra Retreat is a beautifully designed eco-farmhouse nestled on a 50-acre organic property near the Lachlan River, just minutes from the town of Forbes. This contemporary, architect-designed retreat offers a unique blend of modern luxury and sustainable living, perfect for guests looking to unwind in nature without sacrificing comfort.

The retreat features two ensuite bedrooms with flexible king or king single configurations, and optional trundle beds or a cot for additional guests. Air conditioning, heating, and a fully equipped kitchen ensure a comfortable stay, with a generous breakfast included—featuring house-baked sourdough, organic eggs, and homemade muesli and preserves. The north-facing living space opens onto a private deck overlooking a peaceful waterhole, complete with a BBQ and plunge pool for warmer days.

Guests are encouraged to explore the lush permaculture garden and harvest fresh produce, herbs, and fruit to enjoy during their stay. The retreat’s thoughtful design includes rainwater-washed linens, a Tesla charger, undercover parking, and strong Wi-Fi. Inside, cozy couches, a wood fireplace, wireless speakers, and streaming-ready TV provide all the comforts of home.

Nature lovers can enjoy scenic walks to the nearby Gum Swamp bird sanctuary or hop on complimentary bikes to visit the chooks and ducks. Art enthusiasts will love the nearby sculpture trail that weaves through the countryside. Though you're immersed in nature, you're just a short drive from town—making Girragirra a tranquil yet convenient escape.

Please note the retreat sits near an unfenced waterhole and, as part of a working organic farm, you may spot local wildlife or insects. Access is via a gravel driveway, setting the tone for a peaceful, off-the-beaten-track experience in the heart of regional New South Wales.
