Welcome to Orto Farm, a living, breathing example of regenerative permaculture and community-based living. Nestled into the landscape with views of Lalgambook, the Orto Farm House offers two private guest rooms—ORTO One and ORTO Two - each with a private entrance and bathroom. Guests can book one or both rooms depending on their needs. These spaces are warm and inviting, designed with natural materials and a deep respect for the land.

Your stay begins with a guided tour of the farm, where you’ll meet pigs on pasture, heritage hens, and seasonal produce in the kitchen gardens. Guests are welcome to help themselves to fresh eggs, herbs, and other seasonal offerings, and enjoy breakfast items like bread, milk, and coffee provided with your stay. The property includes a beautifully planted wetland, perfect for a swim, a quiet read, or peaceful reflection.

The shared guest kitchen and living area, accessed via an undercover walkway, creates a warm, communal space inspired by the Italian agri-turismo tradition. Furnished with vintage pieces and warmed by a wood-fired stove, this space brings people together in the spirit of good food and conversation. In summer, the garden flourishes, and you’re invited to harvest ingredients to prepare your own meals. In winter, the focus shifts to soil health, and guests are encouraged to dress warmly and bring cozy indoor layers.

This is a working farm and home, shared by Mara, Ralf, their two daughters, and often international volunteers who help bring the farm to life. Life here is full of making and growing - baking bread, fermenting, soap making, preserving, planting, and storytelling. Mara speaks fluent Italian, Ralf speaks German, and their passion for slow living and connection to the land is contagious.

Guests are free to roam the farm’s gardens, orchards, and paddocks, walk the local trails, or join a workshop in bread baking, soap making, preserving, or traditional Italian cooking. In warmer months, the kitchen garden is abundant with fresh vegetables, berries, and herbs. The farm also sells small-batch, pasture-raised pork at certain times of the year.

This is a non-smoking, low-waste property that encourages mindfulness in every detail—from how you cook to how you clean up. Composting and low-impact living are part of daily life here.
